"Telenovela" Sneak Preview: Monday, December 7th at 10pm on NBC

Telenovela, a new half hour comedy show about a Spanish soap opera, is debuting January 2016 as part of NBC’s new line up of TV shows. The star of the show actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria (executive producer), from the award winning TV show Desperate Housewives, plays a soap opera star on a popular telenovela. Everything is going great, but Longoria's character Ana Sofia Calderon has one problem, she doesn’t know Spanish. Plus, her ex-husband, played by the actor and singer Jencarlos Canela is hired to be her new on screen lover. This half hour comedy is filled with drama, love, and laughter as the show portrays the outrageous life of the famous cast of a telenovela, which includes actors Diana Maria Riva, Jose Moreno Brooks, Alex Meneses, Amaury Nolasco, Jadyn Douglas, and Izzy Diaz.

Eva Longoria, the executive producer of Telenovela, says that the show is “not a Latino comedy, this is a comedy that has universal themes of family and friendship and love and workplace. And it’s really funny.” “People are going to be surprised that they’re going to fit right into this family,” says Eva when discussing the fact that the ensemble cast fully consists of people of Hispanic background. Amaury Nolasco, an actor who plays Rodrigo Suarez in the show, said in an interview “I dare you to watch the first episode and not want to see the next one.”

Telenovela is executive produced by Chrissy Pietrosh, Jessica Goldstein, Eva Longoria, Ben Spector, Josh Bycel, and Jonathan Fener. It will be sure to make you laugh this winter 2016 when it debuts on NBC.
