LOS ANGELES, CA (October 12, 2015) – The Los Angeles Times and Hoy’s 2015 Latinos de Hoy Awards took place yesterday night at the prestigious Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Television personality and journalist Liz Hernandez hosted the annual achievement ceremony, which was held as the culmination of National Hispanic Heritage Month and supports the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. The evening kicked-off with red carpet arrivals followed by the awards show and a post-awards party.
Presenters Henry Cejudo (UFC Fighter), Myrka Dellanos (Emmy-winning Journalist), Rafael de la Fuente (FOX’s Empire), Gaby Moreno (Latin Grammy-winning Artist), Rick Najera (Award-winning Writer, Director), Edward James Olmos (Actor), Lisa Vidal (BET’s Being Mary Jane), Fernando Fiore (Emmy-winning Sportscaster, U.S. Representative Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) and Jaina Lee Ortiz (FOX’s Rosewood). The annual Latinos de Hoy Awards is a bilingual/bicultural event to honor those in the Latino community who exemplify leadership, service and a dedication to setting an example for their peers and the next generation. It is the only event celebrating Latinos, and the vibrant and diverse voices in a shared culture, produced by a major newspaper group in the U.S.
The event brings together celebrities, entrepreneurs and community leaders and is executive produced by David Chavez, CEO of INGEÑUITY. More than 3 million Latinos read the L.A.
