Hollywood, CA (August 26th, 2014) – Hollywood Forever’s 15th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival will take place on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 at the famed Hollywood Forever Cemetery.  This year, Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever will be celebrating its quinceañera (15th anniversary) and is inviting you to partake in the festivities.  Tickets for this special event are set to go on-sale on Friday, August 29th, 2014 at noon.

 

With three stages of entertainment bringing music, dance and theater to festival-goers of all ages, Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever promises to delight even the youngest calacas throughout the day. 

 

By sundown, the main stage heats up with performances by some of today’s best female rockers including Mexican songstress Carla Morrison who won two Latin GRAMMY awards for her album Déjenme Llorar,which has been certified Gold in Mexico, and continues to be in the top 50 on iTunes US Latino Album Chart. 

 

Also included in the line-up this year is 2014 GRAMMY Award Winner – Best Latin Rock Album, La Santa Cecilia, whose unique sound exemplifies the modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music. 

 

Also joining the pool of female talent is singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno who picked up her first Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist at last years awards.   Moreno’s original blend of jazz, soul, blues and 1960s rock makes her a true multi-cultural artist who displays a unique and innovative fusion of diverse music styles and influences. 

 

Rounding out the main stage performances are Los Cenzontles (“The Mockingbirds” in Mexico’s native language Nahuatl) whose effortless mix of electric bass and drums with traditional Mexican instruments create a powerful sound infused with the gutsy soul of Mexico’s rural roots music and two-time GRAMMY Award winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, an all-female ensemble imbued with the true flavor of Los Angeles.
