EL CONJUNTO NUEVA OLA have undoubtedly become the leading heroes of rhythm as they conquered Chicago this past weekend with cumbia and rock rhythms in front of an energetic audience of over 7,000 people at the Descarga 2014 summer concert series presented by Telemundo/Mun2.

It can be said that River Edge Park experienced EL CONJUNTO NUEVA OLA, as concert attendees danced and partied with the group’s witty musical repertoire such as: ‘Cumbia Town’, ‘El Luchador’, ‘Nadie como tú’, ‘Chido Chido’, ‘El Chango’ (a mí me gusta),‘Quién Pompo’, ‘Chambelán’, ‘La Negra Tomasa’, and ‘El Sonidito Punk’ .
Additionally, the famous actresses of the Telemundo network, María Luisa Flores (Reina de Corazones) and Carmen Aub (El Señor de los Cielos) shared in the fun on stage while the group presented their witty and very rhythmic single ‘El Jom Dipo’ (Home Depot), a single dedicated to all the men who gather outside the store seeking for work and is available today through iTunes.

The group is known for their humorous songs that make light of popular culture and often parody specific songs by contemporary Latin & American musical acts. In their three year career span, the band has developed a cult following through its tight instrumentation and gimmicky high-energy stage shows. When performing live, band members wear extravagant costumes and personalized Mexican wrestling masks to maintain their anonymity.
Originally from Mexico City, EL CONJUNTO NUEVA OLA consists of leader and vocalist Urbano López, Luzio Nava on guitar, Primitivo Ríos on bass, Hipólito Madero on percussion, Tacho Vasquez on timbales, and El Raio Manzares on keyboard.
