GRANDEZA MEXICANA PRESS RELEASE July 11 2015
Los Angeles - Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company today announces Un Tributo A Mexico, presented at M3 Live Anaheim Event Center in the city of Anaheim, for one night only. For the first time, the 50 member, U.S.A. premier Mexican folk ballet company brings their production: Un Tributo A Mexico, to Anaheim, California. Quinto Sol, an original Aztec inspired piece tells the mesoamerican legend of the creation of the world, the universe, and humanity according to the current calendar period. Carnaval de Morelos, a rarely performed work outside of this south central region, blends the pre-colonial and Moorish traditions brought to Morelos by the Spanish into an elaborate and rhythmic presentation.
There's also an impressive representation of the Mexican Revolution of 1910, and a festive mosaic of dance suites from the states of Michoacan, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Guerrero, Sinaloa, Durango, and Jalisco. Adorned with colorful costumes and accompanied by Mariachi Los Toros, over 40 dancers portray the wonderfully distinct traditions that comprise Mexican culture.
The concert, which takes place on Saturday, July 11th at 8PM, will mark their official first appearance in Orange County.
