This Sunday The 5th Annual Golden Foodie Awards  Will Be Celebrated With Some Of

The Hottest Celebrity Chefs and Winemakers In The Nation

The 5th Annual Golden Foodie Awards to Take Place on September 25th at The Fairmont Newport Beach

 

 

The 5th annual Golden Foodie Awards will be celebrated with some of the hottest celebrity chefs and wine makers in the nation. On September 25th at the Fairmont Newport Beach Food Network chefs and the Orange County culinary community will gather for the ultimate celebration of food. Guests will arrive on the red carpet and enjoy more than 30 tantalizing stations serving delicious food, craft cocktails and premium wines. Once the food and drink reception is over, guests will find their way into the ballroom for the awards ceremony. The ballroom is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous stage and tables overflowing with more glorious bites of cheese, bread, fruits, nuts, chocolates, gourmet desserts and premium wines.

 

Winners of the Golden Foodie Awards will be announced during the awards ceremony. Hosting the event is Simon Majumdar a world renowned broadcaster and author who has dedicated the second half of his time on this planet to fulfill his ambition to “Go Everywhere. Eat Everything.  Once the ceremony has completed guests will join in the after-party under the stars. The speak easy vibe of this after-party will feature cocktails by: Maker’s Mark, Roca Patron, Patron XO Café, Ketel One Vodka and a DCS Liquid Lounge with the Liquid Chef Grilling cocktails. Night bites will be served by Zov’s and Macallan’s. Guests can dance under the stars, enjoy the casino, or sit back and relax in one of the lounges.

· Simon Majumdar - Golden Foodie Award’s Master of Ceremonies, Food Network personality and Author.

 

· Aarti Sequiara -  Food Network host and cookbook author ("Aarti Paarti: An American Kitchen with an Indian Soul").

 

· Penny Davidi - Celebrity Chef from Food Network's The Next Food Network Star

 

· Marcel Vigneron - Celebrity Chef and restaurateur, was on Top Chef, Top Chef: All Stars, The Next Iron Chef and many more.  He is Owner and Executive Chef of Wolf and Beefsteak.

 

· Wing Lam - of Secret Millionaire on ABC and Co-Founder of Wahoo's Fish Taco

 

· Neil Saavedra - Host of The Fork Report with Neil Saavedra

 

· Stan Frazier - Former drummer of Sugar Ray, restaurateur and won the BBC America reality show, Chef Race, UK vs US

 

· Dexter Holland - best known as the singer, rhythm guitarist, and primary songwriter for the punk rock band The Offspring.  His Gringo Bandito hot sauce will be featured at Golden Foodie Awards.  Executive Chef Brian Doherty will be preparing Gringo Bandito rubbed grilled lobsterwith hand made tortillas.

 

· Nigel Lythgoe OBE PhD – Television and film director and producer and regular judge on So You Think You Can Dance. Nigel’s wine Villa San-Juliette will be enjoyed at the Golden Foodie Awards

Describe your culinary style.  California Wine Country cuisine. I like simplicity, freshness, great flavors and cleanliness.

 

What do you enjoy most about being a chef?  The opportunity to be creative, to see our guests happy when they are biting into our flavorful desserts – that’s what makes me the Happiest Chef on Earth.

 

What are some of your favorite dishes to prepare?   Fresh fruit cobblers; vanilla bean Italian flan with strawberry Champagne essence.   

 

Favorite spice?  Cinnamon and ginger.

 

Favorite kitchen gadget?  Kitchen-Aid® mixer.

 

Favorite junk food?  Nachos with cheese and jalapeños.

 

You run a restaurant, but what do you cook for your family?  Mickey Mouse pancakes with condensed milk and a strawberry shake.

 

What food holds childhood memories for you?  In the morning, a hot chocolate with pan de dulce [sweet bread].

 

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy?  Watching food TV shows and reading food magazines.

 

If you weren’t a chef, what would you be?  I would be sad!

 

Your secret culinary indulgence?  Passion, and having the best cast members on earth.
